The Roaring Fork Transportation Authority, the only rural bus system in the country, was chosen by the White House as a Champion of Change. They are being honored for transportation innovation because of the bus system that serves the whole roaring fork valley. US Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood visited the groundbreaking of the project earlier this year. There is a ceremony at the white house on Tuesday recognizing the project, and push it as a model for rural communities across the country.
