Because of water levels continuing to drop at Blue Mesa the National Park Service has closed the boat ramp at the Ponderosa Campground.  Earlier today it was reported that the reservoir is 50 feet below normal and as a result to ensure boater safety and prevention of damage   they’ve decided to close off the ramp. The severity of the drop here on the western slope has caused reservoir levels to drop at a rate of one foot every four days.
