FLASH FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT FOR MONTROSE, DELTA

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ACTIVATED A FLASH FLOOD WARNING AND A FLOOD ADVISORY for the area because of a large, slow moving storm that has already dumped more than two inches of rain on the Uncompaghre plateau and another large storm East of Gunnison. The warning is in effect until 9:30 tonight. Flash Flood Warnings are focused on North Central Montrose County, South Central Mesa County and Western Delta County as well as the Paradox Valley. The entirety of Montrose County is under a Flood Watch. Forecasters expect minor flooding in the Paradox Valley, including the towns of Bedrock and Paradox. Forecasters also expect minor flooding in the far Eastern part of Montrose County and Western Gunnison County in the Big Blue and Cimarron River Basins. Check back here for any updates that may arise.
