Colorado Junior Senator Michael Bennet announced federal grants that are being given to the Colorado Department of Transportation for the Western Slope. One grant is for nearly $2,000,000 for improvements to Red Mountain Pass including repairs and lane widening. Another grant is being made available to Mesa County for improvements to the North Avenue corridor. Senator Bennet said in a release that the grants will quote help enable the completion of much-needed infrastructure improvements that will keep vital roadways safe and reliable and support local economic development.
