Presidential Fever Returns to Western Slope

Aug 1st @ 3:40 pm in News by Scott Staley

The presidential election campaign swings through the western slope once again next week.  Pres. Obama is expected to make a pit stop in Grand Junction on Aug. 8th.  Then the next day will head to Pueblo and Colorado Springs.  At this time there are no firm details as to where or when the Grand Junction visit will take place.  Republican candidate Mitt Romney has already made two trips to the Grand Valley with his last visit at Central High School last month.  His third visit to the Western Slope will be next Thurs at Basalt High School.  He’ll be there to take part in a conference of Republican governors.  Meeting is open to the public with doors opening at 2pm.
