Over the years Crime Stoppers helped crime prevention in local neighborhoods by reaching out directly to the public with special forums.  For the first time this year Crime Stoppers teamed up with Mesa County Sheriff’s office and sent the same message that of community safety.  One of the major goals this year is to educate kids on safety.  The National Night Out that took place last night tried to reach its goal and officials believe that the evening had a positive effect on those that were there.  Crime Stopper officials also say that start up neighborhood watches all over have been on the rise in the last few years.
