The identity of the man who kept a swat team at bay for several hours Sunday and forced authorities to close off parts of Hwy 6 & 50 has been released.  He’s Michael Leroy Schonlau of Clifton.  According to the FBI Schonlau had explosives on him.  Eventually the stand off was diffused without incident and Schonlau left two propane tanks on the site and authorities also found a gun under the driver’s seat of his vehicle.  At his court appearance Schonlau explained that he was trying to get government officials and agencies attention and report the hazards at that refinery.
