For some time now the Telluride airport has been looking for ways to get more airlines to fly into the region to help boost tourism.  Well now they’ve got some help.  The U.S. Transporation Secretary Ray LaHood has announce that Telluride will get a $500 thousand federal grant to help them in that cause. According to Newschannel 5, this is part of the U.S. Dept. of Transportation’s program to help small communities bolster their air service.  A total of $13.9 million has been allocated for this project and Telluride is one of the recipients.  Public and private groups are also expected to donate a substantial amount of money to this program.
