Although its nice to have your city in the national limelight  and the Presidential campaign has passed through Grand Junction a couple of times, it does have its drawbacks.  In Pres.Obama’s latest visit  Grand Junction police say it cost the city over $18 thousand.  Gov. Romney’s visit cost just under $5 thousand.  Much of this is for the required added security needed for these dignitaries.  This does not even include what is spent for hourly wages for employees working the events during their regular shifts.
