Although the peak season for the West Nile Virus is still not for another couple weeks, Delta County has now reported another 6 human cases of the virus. This brings the total number of human cases in Delta County to 10. Of the ten cases only two required hospitalization. The Delta County Public Health office reminds the public to use mosquito repellent during peak mosquito hours, dawn and dusk, and make sure to drain any standing water. The Health office said the prime transmission season will probably last another two weeks before it starts tapering off.
