The families of those killed in the Aurora movie massacre held a press conference earlier today expressing their concern over the way the millions of dollars raised for the victims is being distributed. NBC 11 News reports that one of the victim’s fathers, Tom Teves, criticized both fundraisers, Giving First and Colorado Organization for Victim Assistance for the way they were handling the disbursements. To date, just over $5 million has been raised by the fundraisers. The families have claimed that only $100 thousand has gone to non profit groups and no monies have yet been distributed. A spokesperson for the Governor’s office did issue a statement saying they’re doing everything they can and will ensure that families get the support they need.
