Since June many counties on the western slope have been under stage 1 voluntary water restrictions from this on-going drought.   Unfortunately, Ute Water officials say the actual use of water has actually increased.  As a result there’s a good chance many will see water restrictions of some sort next year.  To what degree restrictions will be made will depend in the snowpack this winter.  Many counties are already preparing for the worst.
