Waldo Canyon Fire Human Caused and Update on Roach Fire

It now appears that the Waldo Canyon Fire in June was human started.  Investigators have went through the area and have made that determination.  Further details will be released when investigators hold a briefing on Sept. 12th.  The Waldo Canyon Fire near Colorado Springs turned out to be Colorado’s most destructive fire in the state’s history destroying nearly 350 homes and killing two people.

On the topic of fires crews have been slowly getting the upper hand on the Roach Fire in Larimer County and is now 50 per cent contained.  130 firefighters and a number of aircrafts are on the scene trying to keep the blaze from spreading.  The Roach Fire is currently burning on 125 acres in the Roosevelt National Forest just about 3 miles south of the Colorado Wyoming state line.  No structures are in any immediate danger and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
