The Montrose High School Indians got a big win this weekend, their first this season. The Indians were at home playing the Palmer Ridge Bears on Friday and won fifty nine to twenty. Montrose Tailback Angelo Youngren rushed a total of two hundred twelve yards in that game and had this stunning seventy three yard run with minutes left in the first half.

 The Indians will head up to Delta on Friday to face the Panthers. Also on Friday, the Hotchkiss Bulldogs faced the Olathe Pirates in Olathe and won their season opener. The bulldogs won twenty to fourteen. The Olathe Pirates will be playing in Cedaredge against the Bruins on Friday. The Delta Panthers won this weekend as well in Gunnison. The panthers won forty one to seven against the Cowboys, and they will be playing Montrose on Friday in Delta.
