After 26 tense hours a standoff between a driver and police ended in Pagosa Springs when authorities arrested 59 yr old Mark Trail.  He had kept police at bay in his van since Tue. Morning.  Initially Trail had been accused of shooting a horse and was due  in court to answer the charge.  However, when he was pulled over he became agitated and repeatedly said  that he was going to end his life.  The stand off ended peacefully but during that time all Archuleta County schools were closed yesterday.
