Advocates For Regulation of Marijuana File Lawsuit in Denver

Advocates who are pushing to have marijuana regulated like alcohol have filed a lawsuit in a Denver court over the wording and editing of some comments on the ballot saying that this could cause legal problems.  KJCT says that before putting Amendment 64, which would legalize recreational use of marijuana, on the ballot for November the state panel added a disclaimer that says legalizing marijuana would not automatically produce a windfall from a new tax on marijuana because legislators must first refer it to voters for approval.  Advocates for Amendment 64 also stated that lawmakers edited out some of the suggested benefits of marijuana that supporters felt should be on the ballot.
