At about 6:30 Sat. night shots were heard at Riverside Park near the Redlands.  Police are investigating the incident where apparently a birthday party was taking place nearby.  When police questioned some witnesses they concluded that the fired shots were not related to the birthday celebration.  Eventually, with the help of the Mesa County Sheriff’s office, police arrested two suspects at 17^th and Rood Ave.   Eyewitnesses were able to link the two men, Marcos Gomez and Nicholas Guzman  to the shooting incidents and charged them with reckless endangerment, physical evidence, and weapons charges.  Both were sent to the Mesa County Jail.  Police are still trying to figure out what happened that led to the shooting in the first place.
