Come this fall in Telluride, voters will be asked to approve a mill levy override for the Telluride R-1 School District.  According to the Daily Planet, the district board of education voted this past week to place this issue on the ballot as “Initiative 3A”.  This initiative is asking taxpayers to take up some of the slack of the funds being lost due to cuts in state funding.  According to a statement from the district the monies will be dispersed to help improve teacher training and effectiveness, technology improvements, mentoring programs and partnerships with local educational and non profit agencies.
