Colorado U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet who is also a member of the Senate Agriculture Comm. Has been named a recipient of the American Farm Bureau’s “Friend of the Farm Bureau” award” and the National Farmer’s “Golden Triangle” award for his work on agricultural policy and legislation supporting rural communities.  Bennet spent a good part of this summer visiting areas that have been hard pressed from the drought and trying to gain support for the 2012 Farm Bill.  Even earlier this week Sen. Bennet met with Colorado producers who traveled to Washington for a rally at the U.S. Capitol in an effort to get the House of Representatives to pass the 2012 Farm Bill.
