For several years Colorado has been considered one of the leanest states in the nation but that may soon change as the state was just registered the highest obesity rate in the state’s history. Health officials have noted that the obesity rate in Colorado, much like the rest of the country, is continuing to rise. They go on to say that the increase has become noticeable and are urging people to take the time to develop better eating habits and exercise on a regular basis. School teachers are urging their students to get 150 minutes of activity a week in school, something that is actually a state law in Colorado. By being vigilant and maintaining a healthy lifestyle officials feel we could reverse the trend and obesity rate will start going down.
