Five concerned parties, one of them a private homeowner, have been given permission to be part of an upcoming public hearing involving Energy Fuels Resource’s proposed Pinon Ridge uranium mill.  According to the Daily Planet the others granted permission to the hearing are The Towns of Telluride and Ophir, San Miguel County and the environmental group Sheep Mtn Alliance, who initially filed a suit against the proposed mill.  The public hearing is set for Oct. 15th and Nov 7th in Nucla.  Some of the main concerns of these groups include possible contamination of drinking water, the social and economic impact  the mill would have  and the fact that Sheep Alliance questions Energy Fuels’ plan for decommissioning and decontamination of the mill.
