The Westminster Police Department identified the body of ten year old Jessica Ridgeway on Friday. Her body was found on Wednesday at a park around seven miles from where she was found. Police did not immediately release the identity of the body, waiting until Friday afternoon.  Police have not released much information about the case, fearing compromising the investigation. The FBI is assisting with the investigation, and police have looked into more than 800 tips. They are also looking into the records of registered sex offenders in the neighborhood. Police have stepped up patrols around schools and parents are taking greater precautions with their children. Westminster Police Chief Lee Birk said at Friday’s press conference that quote “all our efforts now are in search of her abductor, we recognize there is a predator at large in our community.”
