Colorado Secretary of State Scott Gessler is under fire for more financial allegations, this time from the Denver Post. In an article today, the Denver Post alleges that Gessler gave himself a fourteen hundred dollar bonus in June 2011. The Secretary of State’s office confirmed to the Post that Gessler had in fact asked for quote “any remaining discretionary funds.” According to Gessler’s spokesman, he asked for the money to cover day to day expenses. The Post further alleges that unlike any other reimbursement request, this came with no receipts or other documentation. The liberal leaning group Colorado Ethics Watch has added this complaint to a letter sent to the Denver District Attorney Monday. The letter called for an investigation into a reimbursement request made by Gessler during the Republican National Convention.
