With the Nov. elections looming over us, the presidential issue is not the only hot topic. Amendment 64, the legalization of marijuana for recreational use, has been causing many to take sides. Most law enforcement and law makers oppose the amendment. But some police authorities actually support it saying that it would free them up to concentrate on more serious crime. Proponents of Amendment 64 plan on releasing a report later today claiming that arresting pot offenders is tying up the justice system and causing taxpayers a lot more money. Opponents of the amendment are also planning their own counter to that with an event scheduled today with mothers who oppose the measure.
