As we get closer to the holiday season you can rest assure that authorities will be out in force looking for dui’s.  And it’s all starting this weekend.  CDOT and the State Patrol will conduct their Halloween “Heat Is On” campaign beginning at 6pm this eve.  The enforcement will go until Thurs. Nov 1st  at 3am.  Why so early.  State Patrol has explained that historically October is one of the deadliest months for alcohol related traffic accidents.  According to one CDOT official last year 10 people were killed in alcohol related crashes in Oct.  Motorists are being advised that this year there will be increased DUI checkpoints and regular patrols underway.
