Montrose Police stopped a man with 7 pounds of marijuana yesterday. Travis Daugherty was a passenger in a car pulled over because its headlights were not on. Police could smell the marijuana coming from the car and asked both occupants if they had been using the drug. The female driver was not, but Daugherty had a valid medical card allowing him to have up to 4 ounces. When officers looked in the car, they could see a container with what looked like pot in it. Daugherty said he had maybe 3 pounds, but when confiscated, it weighed in closer to 7 pounds with a street value up to $17 thousand. Daugherty was arrested and is held on
5-thousand dollar bond and is due in court today.
