A number of Glenwood Springs students who were in New York to be part of a mock trial international competition, wound up stuck in the city during Hurricane Sandy. The group was staying in Brooklyn when the storm hit and fortunately that area was not hit as hard. They were in a Marriott that had a designated evacuation shelter which had backup generators and some extra food and water. The Glenwood students were out of harm’s way and managed to entertain themselves by watching movies while the storm passed.
