Delta-Montrose Technical College announced they will have Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) classes beginning in January. Successful completion of the Emergency Medical Technician at DMTC prepares students to take the exam to be certified by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians. Individuals with an interest in community service such as volunteer ambulance and fire organizations, search & rescue, mountain rescue, and ski patrol; or those with a career interest in the ambulance of fire service will find the EMT classes at DMTC to be a great place to get started.
DMTC will offer an accelerated, 8-week daytime class starting in Delta on January 7, 2013. They will also offer 17-week evening classes in Delta starting January 7, and in Paonia starting on January 21, 2013. Each class requires additional clinical hours once the classroom time is completed. The daytime class will meet Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The evening classes meet two nights a week from 6:00 to 9:30 p.m. and every other Saturday. The registration deadline for all three classes is December 14, 2012.
