To help offset the rising host of jet fuel many Colorado Ski resorts are trying to help airlines that fly into mountain resorts with much needed subsidies. These subsidies are also expected to help many financially strapped vacationers. One of the agreements includes Telluride Tourism Board helping Crested Butte Mountain Resort with a $650 thousand revenue-guarantee deal with Allegiant Air to bring twice-weekly flights from Oakland and Phoenix to Montrose during the winter. Other deals have also been worked out with Steamboat, Crested Butte, and Vail paying more to airlines for consistent flights.
