At today’s Montrose County Commissioners meeting the board voted to approve the release of final payment to Ridgway Valley Enterprises for construction of the Justice Center Annex building. The county had broken ground on the building in January of this year and in July the second story was completed. In August the first floor of the annex was done and the Coroner’s office moved in. The best part of this project is that the cost came about $60 thousand under the original budget. The cost saving are due to a joint effort of several divisions in the County getting together and doing the work so it did not have to be contracted out. The County plans to approach future projects in the same manner as the Annex to minimize costs.
