The Montrose Downtown Development Authority (DDA) and the downtown business community today announced their endorsement and participation in the third annual Small Business Saturday on November 24. Small Business Saturday, which falls between Black Friday and Cyber Monday, is a day to support the local
businesses that create jobs, boost the economy and preserve neighborhoods around the country. American Express created Small Business Saturday in 2010 in response to small business owners’ most pressing need: more demand for their products and services.
“The Montrose Downtown district is home to many unique and exceptional small businesses. By shopping locally, we can strengthen our community and create positive economic growth. During the past year, over 20 new businesses have opened downtown and many existing stores have brought in new products. This day is a day to explore the fresh, exciting atmosphere in Montrose Downtown and find the perfect holiday gifts.” said Scott Shine, Executive Director of the Montrose DDA.
Through a new partnership, American Express and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce offered an exclusive opportunity for business organizations to bring Small Business Saturday to their communities. In recognizing the importance of supporting small businesses in our community, the Montrose DDA is pleased to announce our support of Small Business Saturday. The entire region is invited to take part in our Small Business Saturday event on November 24th. The event takes place all
day throughout the downtown district. From 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, there will be free Holiday Hay Rides around the district. There will be special in-store promotions along with dining and drink specials at downtown restaurants. Come downtown to support small businesses and to shop for your holiday gifts.
