The 1991 Montrose Girls Basketball team won a state championship for the Indians.  As a member of that team, Amy Rowan is very fond of hoops and promoting high school basketball.  She also has a sophomore daughter playing varsity basketball for Montrose.  That’s why she’s the point person for the Montrose Alumni celebration scheduled for January 26th prior to the varsity games against Durango.

It’s been a lengthy process finding alumni so far, using yearbooks of the past to try and get names of boys and girls players.  Sadly, the yearbook only put in team pictures if the team went to state.  Rowan is asking for help to try and locate as many basketball alumni as possible now

The alumni will be introduced between the girls and boys varsity games, with a chili lunch planned after the varsity games.  Donations will be accepted for any non-alumni wanting to eat.  If you have any information on alumni basketball players, coaches or ways to help, call Amy Rowan at 275-52-51.
