The Western State Colorado University Wrestling team is receiving votes in the latest Division II Coaches Association poll, released Wednesday.  WSCU is close to breaking into the top 20 in the nation and will most likely do so if they can beat Colorado Mesa in Thursday night’s dual.  Colorado Mesa is ranked 17th in the current poll.

Elliot Copeland (So., Bennett, Colo.) is the only Mountaineer individually ranked.  Copeland is ranked second at 174 pounds.  Three other RMAC teams are currently ranked in the top-20.  Grand Canyon is ranked sixth, Colorado Mesa at 17th and Adams State just behind in 18th.

Thursday’s dual against #17 Colorado Mesa is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. in Paul Wright Gym.  The dual is an “Operation Red” event, so fans are encouraged to wear red.  WSCU Wrestling will also be handing out 500 free t-shirts as a part of the event.
