Two Montrose County Coroner’s Office Deputy Coroner Investigators were recently recognized for outstanding contributions in the delivery of service to the Montrose area.  Coroner’s Investigator Shaye Bromley was awarded a Police Merit Citation from the Montrose Police Department and Coroner’s Investigator Pat Blackwelder received the Pride in Workmanship Award from The Montrose Rotary Club.

Working alongside Montrose Police officers, Ms. Bromley fulfilled her role as a law enforcement official in responding to the scene of a local murder-suicide earlier this year.  This Police Merit Citation recognizes her exemplary professionalism in responding to and investigating the incident and protecting both the victims and the public.  Ms. Bromley has expressed sincere appreciation to the Montrose Police Department and the Investigators in acknowledging her contribution to Montrose citizens.

The Montrose Rotary Club has recognized the impressive community contribution of Pat Blackwelder in the Pride in Workmanship Award. While she works as a Coroner’s investigator, Ms. Blackwelder also volunteers in a number of other areas to provide neighborhood service and support.  As a Deputy Coroner, Ms. Blackwelder determines cause and manner of death and provides comfort services to family members.  Ms. Blackwelder also contributes her time to military service members through Welcome Home Montrose.  In this capacity, she helps to create a “no barriers” environment with jobs, homes, services and recreation for every wounded warrior.   She serves on the Airport Advisory Board and works for Christ’s Kitchen.  In addition, Ms. Blackwelder also works with Voices for Children – CASA of the 7th Judicial District where she serves on the CASA Board providing court-appointed advocacy services to area children.  Ms. Blackwelder demonstrates impressive pride in workmanship in her commitment to Montrose.

The Montrose County Coroner’s Office of Medical Investigation congratulates both investigators on their achievement and is proud to acknowledge their contributions as team members of the Montrose County Coroner’s Office.  Photos of Shaye Bromley and Pat Blackwelder are attached.
