Wednesday, February 20, 2013, 5:30-7:00 PM MST, The office of Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet will co-host a workshop – entitled “Beyond Colorado: How to Bring Your Products and Services to the Global Marketplace” – in Grand Junction for Colorado businesses looking to expand abroad.

Last year, Colorado set records as manufactured, agricultural and mineral exports grew 11.3 percent in 2012, growing from $7.3 billion to $8.1 billion. These workshops are designed to help businesses, entrepreneurs, ranchers, farmers, agricultural producers, and food processors take advantage of this trend and grow their customer base outside the U.S.

At the workshop, attendees will hear from panelists who have a broad range of experience in exporting products, financing overseas distribution, and protecting intellectual property. Information will be provided from the Colorado Department of Agriculture, U.S. Department of Commerce, Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade, and the Colorado Bar Association Intellectual Property (IP) Section.

Attendees at previous workshops have found the session valuable. “Beyond Colorado gave me the basics of where a business interested in exporting should start—with resources available right here in Colorado,” Mike Lefever, director of First Farm Bank in Greeley, who attended an earlier workshop in Fort Collins, said.

There is no cost to attend, but space is limited. Please RSVP by February 19th at http://www.bennet.senate.gov/beyondcolorado.

Other workshops have been held in Pueblo, Colorado Springs, and Fort Collins. Future workshops are planned for Denver and Durango.
