Every 20 years the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is tasked with creating a guiding document or Resource Management Plan (RMP) and Environmental Impact Study (EIS) for managing federal multiple use lands.  The Grand Junction Field Office has just gone through the process of creating a RMP/EIS.  Collin Ewing, Planning and Environmental Coordinator with the BLM Grand Junction Field Office will present the RMP at the Chamber’s Energy Briefing, tomorrow morning at 7:30 a.m. in the Chamber’s Downstairs Conference Room.  Ewing’s presentation will discuss how to navigate the lengthy document, how to comment on specific sections and uses in the document, and will discuss many of the proposed uses of the 1 million acres that will be managed.  He will also discuss the major issues of travel management and recreation and mineral development.  This meeting is open to the public and reservations are not needed.
