The final construction phase of the Airport Trunk Sewer Line project began this week, resulting in closure of 64.50 Road from the bridge south to San Juan Avenue.  Construction of this segment is expected to last four weeks.   Motorists are advised to detour around the construction area via Kentucky Road and 65.30 Road.

Additional travel impacts will occur as construction moves southward, ending at the intersection of North Seventh Street and Uncompahgre Avenue.  Motorists are encouraged to exercise caution when traveling near the construction area.  Access to residences, businesses, and government offices will be maintained throughout construction.

In addition to installing a new sewer line, construction crews will replace asbestos cement water lines along the project area, reconstruct the North Ninth and Park Avenue intersection, and repave all road surfaces impacted by construction activities.

The Airport Trunk Sewer Line project is a multi-year effort to install a new 30-inch sanitary sewer line that will relieve high flows in existing lines and provide additional capacity for future growth.
