FCCLA Students Qualify for National Leadership Conference

Montrose, CO -The Montrose High School chapter of Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) attended the state leadership conference and competition last week, April 11th – 13th, in Denver.  Samantha Oman and Caitlyn O’Meara entered the Advocacy event with their project about encouraging students to use peer pressure to encourage other students to not abuse alcohol or other substances.

Erica Decker and Katie McClendon entered the National Programs at Work category with their Community Service project to provide fun activities for teenagers who do not abuse alcohol or marijuana.  Both teams received 1st place gold medals and are now eligible to move on to the National FCCLA Leadership conference that will be held July 7th – 11th in Nashville, Tennessee.
