Delta, Colo., (April 30, 2013) – Beginning in the 2013 fire season, information for wildland fire and prescribed burning on the Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forest (GMUG) will be provided by the Forest Service and fire information for the Southwest District BLM (Uncompahgre, Gunnison and Tres Piedres Field Offices) will be provided separately. Dispatching for the GMUG will continue to be serviced through the Montrose Interagency Dispatch Center. Fire information and dispatch for the Grand Valley Ranger District (Grand Junction) will continue to be provided out of the Upper Colorado River Interagency Management Unit (UCR).
The GMUG has established an information line for use by the public and media that is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. That number is 970.874.6602.
