The Colorado Wildland Fire & Incident Management Academy (CWFIMA) kicked off Saturday in Olathe with over 300 people from 12-states attending the wildland fire training.  Incident Commander Jim Krugman says the persistent training offered to fire fighters through the Academy is key to “promote safety and integrate the efforts of local, State, Federal, Tribal, private-sector and non-governmental emergency response organizations.”  Krugman adds that a wide range of classes being offered will offer attendees a chance to learn from Colorado’s challenging 2012 fire season.

2013 marks the 20th consecutive year the Academy has been held.  Classes offer both new and seasoned fireighters to share experiences and learn from past efforts.
