There were over 200 less DUI arrests over Memorial Day weekend this year than in 2012.  Colorado State Patrol Trooper Nate Reid says there were 318 DUI arrests and five alcohol-related car crashes that occurred during CDOT’s Memorial Day DUI enforcement period resulting in six fatalities – an increase in fatalities over the same time period in 2012.  While there were more fatal accidents, DUI arrests were down from 542 last year made statewide during Memorial Day Weekend.

Reid adds that statewide statistics show that DUI offenses have decreased over the past year by 5-percent with 1,321 less offense filings.
