Independence Day festivities in Montrose will feature a pair of flyovers by some very unique and historic military aircraft.

The 10:00 AM, July 4th parade will also have some “aerial floats” participating. About six military style aircraft will be flown over the parade route. The group of planes will vary and range from biplanes used to train WWII pilots, a WWII Navy torpedo bomber, a P-51 “Mustang” fighter, and a Vietnam-era forward air control aircraft. After the parade, the planes will do another fly-over to open the Vietnam memorial at 11:30 AM at the conclusion of the National Anthem.
