Several veterans, including those who served in Vietnam, were on hand at Cerise Park on Independence Day to experience the Wall that Heals and observe a special flyover honoring veterans by pilots manning vintage World War Two aircraft. It was a fitting scene for a patriotic community that consistently honors its past and present service men and women. Several of the veterans we spoke with at the Wall said they feel it serves as an important reminder of the Vietnam war and the ultimate sacrifice made during the conflict by over 55-thousand Americans.
The Wall that Heals travels all over the country, helping to spread healing to veterans, their families and friends. It came to Montrose via Ohio and is now headed to Indiana.
