The Bureau of Reclamation has released its draft environmental assessment on a proposed trail system at Ridgway Reservoir. Reclamation along with Colorado Parks and Wildlife is proposing to construct and manage five miles of hiking and biking trails on the east side of Highway 550, across from the Dutch Charlie campground near Ridgway. Three miles of the proposed trail system will compliment an adjacent Bureau of Land Management trail project, which will result in a total of 20 miles of new trails in the area.
Bureau of Land Management spokesperson Justyn Hock says comments from the public on the proposed Ridgway trail expansion are being accepted through July 12th. Comments can be emailed to email@example.com, or faxed to (970) 248-0601.
