The investigation into a single vehicle-multiple pedestrian-victim accident on the 4th of July in Grand County continues.  State Trooper Josh Lewis says 33-year old Grand Lake resident Lucas Ackerman was taken into custody after the 2006 Ford pickup truck he was driving plowed into a family walking along Highway-34 near Granby after a fireworks display.  Lewis says 50-year old Greg Westley, of Estes Park was pronounced dead on scene.  His wife, 49-year old Debbie Westley, was transported via helicopter to Denver Health Center with serious injuries.  A 10-year old girl was also flown to Denver Health with minor-to moderate injuries.  Two other victims, a 19-year old woman and a three year old boy, were flown to Children’s Hospital with serious injuries; both are in stable condition and the injuries do not appear life-threatening.  Five other children who were present at the accident scene were not harmed.

Ackerman and his passengers, a woman and children, were not harmed.  Ackerman was taken into custody for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
