Delta Police detectives are investigating a stabbing that occurred during an altercation between two men at the intersection of Highway-50 and 1560 Road just before 10 p.m. Monday night. Delta Police Department spokesperson Jamie Head says that when officers arrived on scene they located a 25-year old man who had been stabbed in the upper torso. The wounds appeared to be superficial. The victim was transported to Delta County Memorial Hospital, treated and released. Another man, a 35-year old Delta resident, was located at the scene and appeared to have injuries to his head. He was also transported to DCMH for treatment. The injuries sustained by both men were determined “not life threatening.” Head adds that all of the individuals involved in this incident have been identified but their names are being withheld pending further investigation.
Both of the men involved in the incident were known to each other and Head stresses that it was not a random act of violence.
