Search and Rescue personnel have retrieved the lifeless body of an apparent fall victim near Capitol Peak West of Aspen.  The Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office reports that 35-year old Vail resident, Ryan Joseph Palmer, is believed to have fallen 200 to 300-feet while attempting to climb down the north face of the dramatic peak. Palmer’s climbing partners contacted the Sheriff’s Office when the victim failed to return to camp.

Palmers body was located on Sunday; Capitol Peak rises above 14-thousand feet and is a popular area with advanced rock climbers.
