(Montrose, CO)

A new law went into effect this month that prohibits Western Slope residents and people across the state from throwing electronic-waste into the trash.  Items that fall under the new law include:  television sets, central processing units (CPUs), computer monitors, peripherals, printers, fax machines, laptops, notebooks, ultra books, net books, electronic tablets, digital video disc (DVD) players, video cassette recorders (VCRs), radios, stereos, video game consoles and video display devices with screens greater than four inches diagonally.

In Montrose e-waste can be recycled or disposed of at Recla Metals, Montrose County Landfill, Habitat for Humanity ReStore, and Office Depot.  Other suggestions include donating or selling electronic items if they are still viable.
