Wyatt Anderson has just been hired on staff as Assistant Coach for Western State University’s football team in Gunnison.  Henderson spent the past five years coaching at West Los Angeles College as the assistant head coach, offensive coordinator, wide receivers coach and recruiting coordinator.  A former NFL player, Henderson will bring 22 years of coaching experience to the Mountaineer football staff, ranging from high school to professional sports.

Henderson has also been a member of coaching staffs at Washington Preparatory High School in Los Angeles  and Canyon High School in Canyon Country, California.

An accomplished wide receiver at Fresno State University from 1977-79, Henderson earned the Dr. Pepper Conference Player of the Year award in 1978.  After Fresno State, Henderson went onto play in the NFL as a defensive back for the San Diego Chargers for two seasons, 1981 and 1982.  He then took his talents to the Oakland Invaders of the USFL, where he played three seasons and led the entire team in touchdown receptions in 1983.
