Highway-50 spans over 200-miles between Montrose and Pueblo and in spite of the expanse of distance and over 2-decades in time, Pueblo Police are hoping to get some help from the public in solving a cold case homicide from 1989. A Police Department spokesperson says detectives are seeking assistance in indentifying a man who was killed before his body was dumped in the Arkansas River within city limits in 1989. The victim’s identity remains unknown after 24-years.
He is described as having been a white male between 30-years old and 45-years old, approximately 5-feet, 10-inches tall, clad in jeans and a flannel shirt at the time of his death. Authorities believe he weighed 150 to 160 pounds, had brown hair, with a brown or red mustache. Detectives are asking anyone who may have information about the identity of the victim or who may have information about the actual homicide to call 719-553-2502 or Crime Stoppers at 719-542-STOP (719-542-7867).
